JB recently commented on the unsightly use of ramps as access to homes or residences in a video published on YouTube. We also added the video clip to this Web site.
Here is the transcript of Jerrold’s remarks:
“Why can’t it be if you look at, if you look at the photographs that we sent you, why can’t it be taken that that amount of money, or maybe even slightly more, and regrading the front so that the driveway comes up with a particlular slope so that by the time you get the slope of the driveway plus the slope of the sidewalk, it comes directly to the front door entry point. Design landscaping around it, so it looks like a landscaping treatment instead of a handicapped treatment. A handicapped treatment is not some bonus, you don’t get stars for that, you know. It’s, it’s a very, ummmmm, unthought of or unthoughtful and insensitive solution to both the problem and to the person afflicted.”
Having walked in the shoes, so as to say, JB empathizes with their plight of those handicapped through physical impaired mobility. He uses his talents as an accomplished and gifted architect to ‘Open The Windows Of The World’ to those so afflicted.
Watch the video clip on our Exterior Residential Access page. And, as always, we would appreciate your comments.
